    Louisa Johnson Admits She Wasn’t Happy with Her X Factor Winners Single

    After being crowned X Factor champion in 2015, Louisa Johnson was signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco record label and released her winners single ‘Forever Young’.

    The song peaked at number 9 in the UK singles charts after selling just 39,000 copies in its first week, making it the worst charting/selling debut release from any X Factor winner.

    But after the disappointment of seeing her cover of Bob Dylan’s hit ‘Forever Young’, Louisa, 18, bounced back this year by teaming up with Clean Bandit on the top 5 hit single ‘Tears’, and is now gearing up for her first official release with the track ‘So Good’.

    Speaking to The Sun newspaper the X Factor star who was mentored by pop singer Rita Ora, admitted that she was never really on board with the official winners single, saying:

    “I didn’t really gel with it that much — everyone knows it wasn’t the best song. I didn’t really like it, but it was just one of those things.

    “It got to a higher spot than I thought it was going to get.”

    The teenager also spoke about the sound of her debut album admitting that there are a few raunchy songs on the record;

    “There’s definitely a few raunchier songs on the album, but there is stuff for everyone, which I think is really important.

    “None of it’s fake, it’s all very much real. It’s all how I feel, how I act and what I do, but I didn’t get to show that side on The X Factor because it’s a competition and I wanted to get through each week.”

    Louisa Johnson’s single ‘So Good‘ is out tomorrow (Friday 27th October), and she will be performing the track live for the first time on this Sunday’s X Factor results show.
