It’s been a month since Louise announced her comeback concert – which is completely sold out. Now, we have a brand new video of her covering Kehlani’s “Bright”, live from London’s Metropolis Studio. It is her third video in the Metropolis Sessions series, following on from “2 Faced” and “Stay”.
This is the first cover from Louise through these sessions; “2 Faced” is her biggest solo hit to date, having charted at number three on the UK Singles Chart; and “Stay” was the debut single of Eternal, to which Louise was one-quarter of. As for “Bright”, it was originally released on Kehlani’s 2015 mixtape, titled You Should Be Here.
The song was written by Kehlani Parrish and Geoffrey P. Earley. Of her Metropolis Session, Louise said: “Music is such a wonderful gift, it has a way of taking you away on a journey into someone’s soul, so this is why I wanted to give you all an insight into my iTunes playlist. This song is called ‘Bright’ by Kehlani, who I absolutely love. Hope you do too. Enjoy xx”.

It’s such a completely positive song, and unlike her previous sessions she has released, you can tell she really wants to do the song justice. She’s probably sung “2 Faced” and “Stay” a hundred times over, in the past; which is why it’s great to see her passionate about a cover song; determined to show off her amazing voice and her vocal ability – and boy does she do just that!
Performing in the studio, she is backed by three women backing singers and three men playing instruments. It is great to hear her voice again and it sure excites us for her upcoming tour. She first announced a headline gig last month, which sold out in minutes. That has now been extended to a five-date tour up and down the country. Imagine hearing her perform something like this on stage!
