He wowed us with the incredible song “She Got Me” on the Eurovision 2019 stage, representing Switzerland, but now Luca Hänni is ready to drop new music to his ever-growing fanbase, and this new single “Bella Bella” has got us dancing, just like the previous single. The song follows up his remix EP of his Eurovision song.
Luca Hänni is a Swiss singer-songwriter who is best known internationally for competing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song “She Got Me“; he represented Switzerland and came fourth with 364 points, which is the country’s best placement since 1993. He hit fame in 2012 when he won the ninth series of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (Germany’s version of Idol). He went on to be a success in his home country, Germany, and Austria, with all four of his studio albums hitting the respective charts, his first two even got to number one in Switzerland. His first single release after winning the show, “Don’t Think About Me”, topped the charts in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, and he has continued his success in his home country with plenty of chart hits. He hasn’t released a new album since 2015’s When We Wake Up, so we can only presume a new one is on its way with “She Got Me” and this new one “Bella Bella” included – we hope.
According to Spotify, this song has been written by Frazer Mac, Jon Hällgren, Laurell Barker, Luca Hänni, Lukas Hällgren, and Pele Loriano, whilst it has been produced by Jon Hällgren, Lukas Hällgren, and Pele Loriano. It really is the most-perfect follow up to his awesome Eurovision song “She Got Me“.
This track starts off with a rising rhythm that reminds us of his previous song, bringing in beats within the verse as Luca Hänni’s awesome vocals accentuate the lyrics. As the chorus comes in, the rhythm completely switches bringing a softer rhythm whilst still managing to get us up and dance. It’s clear that they didn’t want to stray too far away from his Eurovision song – could this be a theme for a new album? – yet still managing to set it apart, preventing comments of them sounding the same. The drop towards the middle of the song certainly reminds us of Eleni Foureira’s “Fuego“, and we have to admit the track overall is fire! It may be similar to his previous release but we can’t help but adore it, and that final verse has certainly got us hooked.
