It seems ages since the release of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ wildly successful The Heist, and it kinda has been: The Heist was released almost three and a half years ago.
Luckily the wait will soon be over. This Unruly Mess I’ve Made is set to be released on February 26th, the duo announced in a rather intense trailer.
In the video, we hear Ben Haggerty – better known as Macklemore – give us a quick rundown of what happened in the last few years. Basically, he hit some sort of creative wall, dashed off to the middle of nowhere to find himself, and is now coming back with a new album.
The three-minute long video is packed with inspirational quotes such as “I was too comfortable. Being comfortable is what kills artists” and “If you aren’t scared of what you created, you aren’t done yet.” If the eloquence of Macklemore in this video is anything to go by, this album will be pretty amazing. We weren’t expecting anything less from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis anyway.
