There’s no doubt that Prince was an artist who influenced many. He will now continue to do so as Manuela Testolini, philanthropist and his former wife plans to have a school built in his honour through her foundation, In A Perfect World. She had spoken to him about her plans to build the school just days before his death.
In the ten years since founding In A Perfect World, the foundation has helped children in countries all around the world have access to education through programs such as REACH (Rural Education and Community Harmony), which builds and renovates schools in economically poor countries in partnership with buildOn. REACH has since built 19 schools in seven countries.
Prince was known to give quietly and generously to various charities throughout his life from #YesWeCode, an initiative to teach low-income youth the ins and outs of coding to holding a benefit concert in Baltimore for the family of Freddie Gray.
“I knew him as a husband, friend and fierce philanthropist. Philanthropy brought us together and it was Prince that encouraged me to start my own charity over 10 years ago.”
-Manuela Testolini
Not only will Prince’s musical legacy will live on, but the big heart of the little man who kept on giving will always be remembered and inspire those of countless generations to come.
