Earlier this month, we introduced you to Nashville based pop singer-songwriter Marisa Maino. After making huge waves with her debut single ‘Hot’, she’s back with another feisty new track called ‘Boy Toy’.
Continuing with her edgy brand of pop, ‘Boy Toy’ sees Marisa deliver another female anthem. The track highlights the singer’s frustration at being used by others, before she realises that she doesn’t need to be a pawn in anyone’s game.
If you’ve ever felt used by anyone, whether that be a friend, partner, colleague or someone in a professional capacity, then you’ll definitely be able to relate to the song. Marisa’s vocals are hypnotising and the lyrics will leave you feeling empowered. The opening has a slight Julia Michaels vibe, so if you’re a fan of her then you should definitely check out ‘Boy Toy’.
Speaking about ‘Boy Toy’, Marisa said: “I think the single is pretty relatable to a lot of females because it was written about both my personal and business life. People don’t give women near enough credit. We can handle anything.”
