Hollywood have confirmed that there will be an all female remake of blockbuster Ocean’s Eleven called Ocean’s Eight and original star Matt Damon is excited about the new movie!

The upcoming female remake will star huge names including, Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and rapper Awkwafina in the lead roles.

And Damon who played  pickpocket Linus Caldwell in the original franchise alongside superstars Brad Pitt and George Clooney, has said that new remake will be “awesome”

Speaking to hindustantimes.com the Hollywood actor said of the new movie: “I think it’s going to be awesome,”. And talking of the roles being lead by an all woman cast the movie star said: “They’re going to kick ass,”

Ocean’s Eight is due to begin shooting this October, and reportedly follows a group of female thieves who a plan a multi-million dollar jewellery heist during the Met Gala.

This is not the first time Hollywood have remade a box-office hit with an all female cast, earlier this year Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig starred in the remake of Ghostbusters which was met with lots of sexism but the girls had the last laugh as the film was a huge worldwide hit topping the box-office in America and taking over 133m worldwide since its release.
