Matt DeFreitas has announced the release of his debut single ‘Chasing Shadows’.
The London based singer-songwriter has been making waves on YouTube for several years now with his channel RollUpHills. Matt’s channel has amassed over 11 million views whilst he has over 82,000 monthly listeners and 4 million streams on Spotify. He shares covers on a weekly basis, with artists such as Hailee Steinfeld, DNCE, Ariana Grande, Drake and Zayn among Matt’s latest cover choices.
Matt often duets with other YouTube singers too. In the past, he has collaborated with Bethan Leadley, Emma Heesters, Red and Mary Desmond to name but a few. He also covered Troye Sivan’s ‘Youth’ with Joe Conaboy, which we shared with you back in February.
He has also enjoyed great success with Cahoots, alongside fellow singers Curricé and Tom Law. Most notably, they performed in front of 80,000 people at last year’s Capital Summertime Ball in Wembley Stadium.
However, it is now time for Matt to shine in his own right with his original solo material. ‘Chasing Shadows’ is Matt’s debut single and it will be released on May 27. With the combination of his recognisable vocals and strong song-writing skills, it’s safe to say that Matt has created something incredibly catchy that will stick in your head after one listen.
