Last year’s X Factor winner Matt Terry released his debut album ‘Trouble’ earlier today, November 24.

Fans have been patiently waiting for the 24-year-old’s album and the singer did not disappoint. ‘Trouble’ has a song for every stage in a relationship, and Matt’s vision was to give fans a little insight into his life. “The album is the stages of my life over the past three years. It’s not a typical heartbreak album, there’s songs about splitting up but not in a bad way,” he tells Daily Star.

One of the most important things to Matt is inspiring other people with his new record. He says, “I want everyone to listen and think, ‘He went through this and that’s how I felt too’.”

Building up to the release of his album, Matt released the two singles ‘Sucker For You’ and ‘The Thing About Love’. Not only did the two songs give listeners a clear idea of the album’s concept and sound, but they also showed two different sides of Matt and his life. ‘Sucker For You’ is an uptempo track about being at the end of a relationship that isn’t necessarily the best but still staying, while ‘The Thing About Love’ is an emotional ballad about the aftermath of a break-up.

Another track that shows Matt’s multiple talents is the song ‘Romeo Y Juliet’, which he recorded in Spanish. As the title suggests, it’s a love story, and even if you can’t understand Spanish, the sound of Matt’s voice is enough to make you feel the heartfelt story behind it.

In addition to the release of his album, Matt is doing a signing tour, where he will be signing copies of ‘Trouble’. check out the dates below:

    27 November – HMV Bromley – 5:30pm
