Max George, best known for being one fifth of boyband The Wanted, will be unveiling his debut solo single ‘Barcelona’ tomorrow (July 3).
The singer will be appearing on Capital FM’s Breakfast Show with Roman Kemp from 8am for the first play of his new single.
Max started to tease his long awaited solo debut a few days ago when all of his Instagram posts were deleted and replaced with a series of stunning clips of the sea and beach.
The snippets were later put together with added sounds of the sea, in addition to a black screen dated 03.07.18 which confirmed that ‘Barcelona’ would be debuting tomorrow.
The Wanted burst onto the music scene in 2010 with their debut single ‘All Time Low’, which went straight to the top of the UK singles chart. During their career they amassed 12 top 40 hits including ‘Chasing The Sun’, ‘I Found You’, and the number one hit ‘Glad You Came’ which also became a huge hit in the States.
Among their many achievements, the band also released three albums, two of which have been certified platinum. In 2014, the band announced their hiatus and since then we’ve been watching each member enjoy success with their individual endeavours.
Over the past few years we’ve seen Nathan Sykes kickstart his solo career with the release of his debut album Unfinished Business. Jay McGuiness won the hearts of the nation when he was crowned the 2015 Strictly Come Dancing champion in 2015. He has also enjoyed a blossoming theatre career starring as Josh Baskin in Big the Musical.
Tom Parker has also ventured into theatre, taking on the iconic role of Danny Zuko in a UK tour of Grease in addition to appearances on shows such as The Jump, Celebrity MasterChef and The Real Full Monty. Siva Kaneswaran has been busy in the studio, in addition to songwriting, acting and modelling. Most recently won Celebrity Hunted with Jay, raising money for Stand Up To Cancer.
However, fans have been waiting patiently to hear more from Max. Aside from a stint on Glee starring as Clint in 2015, Max has been pretty quiet on the surface. Fear not though, behind the scenes he has been grafting hard on his new music and we’re excited to finally hear what he’s been working on.
With Capital FM calling it an “anthem”, we’re hoping that ‘Barcelona’ is going to be the summer bop of our dreams. Make sure you tune in to Capital FM tomorrow morning from 8am to hear the first play of ‘Barcelona’.
