Tis’ the season for Christmas music and it just so happens to go mightily amazing for Michael Buble and Mariah Carey this time of year. It’s not just this year, but every year since their respective holiday albums/singles came out.
Buble’s Christmas was released as a regular studio album but contains Christmas favorites such as ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’ and ‘White Christmas’. It’s sold over 9.3 million copies worldwide (so far) and is expected to reach the 10 million mark by the end of the 2015 winter/Christmas season.
It’s currently in the top 20 of countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, Denmark, etc. Check out the live charting here!
Then, we have the whistle tone diva Mariah Carey whose single ‘All I Want For Christmas’ is a staple Christmas song not just in the United States but around the entire globe.
It’s been called a “holiday standard” by Rolling Stone and still earns a grand amount of royalties. According to a 2013 article, it earns 50 million in royalties! Jaw-dropping indeed!
You can check out her chart movements here! An amazing leap back up the top 40 for the lovely Mariah Carey in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, etc.
In addition, her album Merry Christmas is the best-selling Christmas album of all time with records sales of 15 million worldwide. (hey Michael, you’re not far off from reaching the mighty queen!)
So while we cozy up with our favorite holiday mug filled with warmth as we listen to good old Michael Buble and Mariah Carey songs, they’re racking up some good fun with those holiday royalties (and of course – holiday spirit).
