It can be easy to feel overwhelmed living in a big city. We all have these responsibilities and stresses. At times we can long for a simpler life. Brooklyn-based band Middle Part has unleashed their track “Chinatown” featuring Yuno that conveys that very idea. With fuzzy guitars, sharp synths and energetic vocals, the musical release possesses a retro flair while also feeling new and exciting. Singing of a deep need to get away, there is a freeing feeling radiating within this bold track. The animated music video is just as colorful as the song itself. With dancing noodles and a flying rat, viewers are instantly hooked into the quirky visuals. The video is directed by Glendon and Isabella, acclaimed artists who have directed videos for well-known bands such as Portugal the Man.
The synth-driven indie pop duo Middle Part is known for their nostalgic 90s and early 2000’s inspired sound. Andrew Selk?w began the band when he needed a creative escape due to an intense bout of depression. Teaming up with producer Brian Zaremba, Middle Part began sharing music in 2019 and has since attracted a dedicated fanbase drawn to their honest songwriting and fearless synth-pop sound. With “Chinatown”, Middle Part also enlisted the help of Florida born and bred Yuno to provide a verse and backing vocals.
