This hit us right in the heart the first time we heard it, Milky Day impresses to no-end with his awesome R&B-soul single, titled “Losing My Grip”. It serves as a teaser for his upcoming third studio EP, set to be released later this year. This single release acts as the follow-up to his previous single, “Let Me”, which was a collaboration with Denise Julia.

Milky Day, a Korean-New Zealander artist, is making waves in the R&B and Lofi genres, showcasing a unique journey that resonates with the new generation. Armed with a math degree from Amherst College and a background in classical piano, Milky Day seamlessly fuses his technical expertise in music production with exceptional songwriting skills, creating a captivating sound that speaks directly to his audience. His popular tracks like “You’ll Be Alright” and “Take it Slow” have garnered a total of over 47 million combined streams on Spotify, solidifying his position as a rising star in the music scene. “You’ll Be Alright”, alone, has amassed 16.8 million streams on the platform, while his track “fool” is just behind at 10.9 million. As he fearlessly explores and evolves his sound, fans eagerly anticipate the release of his upcoming EP, promising a powerful testament to his artistic growth and maturity. Milky Day’s musical journey continues to captivate hearts as he bares his soul through heartfelt compositions that resonate far and wide.

Written by Milky Day, himself, “Losing My Grip” delves into his reflections and thoughts about, and during, his dark days. The backdrop of the haunting melody, dreamy synths, and addictive bassline coalesce around Milky Day’s light and warm vocals, creating a beautiful warped contrast that suggests Milky Day is healing from those dark days and although the track’s lyrics state he is losing grip on reality, he’s identifying it (always the first step to healing) and clearly doesn’t want to succumb to it. “Losing My Grip” is a highly emotional R&B-soul ballad that is bound to touch millions of listeners. Milky Day is one incredible rising artist and his flawless vocal delivery on this track proves just that.

Talking about the track, Milky Day said: “Through my observations and life experiences, I realized that everyone struggles with their own inner demons in some shape or form.”
