Following on from CelebMix’s premiere of her debut US single “Take Me Away”, Japanese singer-songwriter MIREI has unleashed the Jersey Club remix for the track, mixed by famed producer DJ Sliink.

“Take Me Away” is the first single to come from MIREI’s upcoming debut EP of the same name, and the Jersey Club remix takes the song to another level, and turns it into a full-on club banger.

Speaking of the remix, DJ Sliink said: “It was a great opportunity to work with MIREI on this one, she has a beautiful voice and plus she’s Japanese!

“I have a big fan base in Japan that loves the Jersey Club style. For me to remix a Japanese artist’s sound into Jersey Club made a lot of sense!

“I see big things for her in the future!”

Accompanying the release of the remix is an all-new music video, which sees MIREI show off her dance moves in a neon yellow outfit, taking inspiration from the 2003 cult classic Kill Bill.

“In the artwork and in the video, I’m wearing a neon yellow outfit,” MIREI said of the video.

“It looks like The Bride from the movie Kill Bill and I’m just in love with it. In the video, I’m dancing with Misaki, who choreographed this with my ex-roommate. We were trying to represent light and shadow.”

We already loved the original version of the track, but this remix is fire, and perfect for the dancefloor!

There’s still more to come from MIREI – make sure you keep a lookout for her “Take Me Away” EP which is set to be released in 2020. We also caught up with the singer herself recently where she spoke more about the upcoming release and the meaning behind the title track!

As for DJ Sliink, the DJ and producer, who is nicknamed ‘The Jersey Club King’ is taking the lead as the first global star of the Jersey Club, helping to popularise the genre worldwide while performing at festivals and collaborating with fellow EDM producers and hip hop artists.
