Moana is sailing to the ballroom next week!
Breakout actress Auli’i Cravalho who voices the character of Moana, will be stepping out on the Dancing with the Stars floor to perform her hit “How Far I’ll Go.”
Contestants Simone Biles and Sasha Farber chose the track for their Disney Night routine. Cravalho will not be the sole live performer of the evening. ZZ Ward is slated to sing her single “Ride” for David Ross and Lindsay Arnold’s Cars 3 themed jive, while season nine winner Donny Osmond belts out Mulan’s “I’ll Make a Man of You” during Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkoskiy’s Paso Doble.
Cravahlo made her live debut back in February during this year’s Oscars where “How Far I’ll Go” was nominated for Best Original Song.
In a recent interview, the teen revealed that she did not intend to audition for Moana.
“I had tried out for different school plays, I was the understudy of the understudy most times. I tried my hardest but at the same time, I didn’t want to, because I knew that if I tried, and didn’t get it, it would break me,” she shared.” But, I took a leap of faith and I decided to say yes to the audition to Moana and my life has changed. So there is nothing more important than hope. And there is nothing more important than using that hope to propel yourself and make yourself better.”
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
