BBC Three has announced that there will be a new series of the Tiger Aspect hit hybrid comedy Murder In Successville.

DI Sleet will be returning to the crazy town of Successville to investigate another string of murders, with a new batch of celebrity sidekicks by his side.

In series one, Dermot O’Leary, Louis Smith, Jamie Laing, Deborah Meaden, Kimberly Wyatt and Greg James signed up for the challenge, which saw them dropped into Successville, where they attempted to assist DI Sleet solve a murder. The question is – who will rise to the challenge this time?

In the new series, prepare to see some of today’s most famed celebrities (played by the likes of Tom Stourton, Colin Hoult and Cariad Lloyd) as you’ve never seen them before, and expect DI Sleet to put his sidekicks in more ridiculous and hilarious predicaments.

Tom Davis says of his return as DI Sleet: “I’m over the moon to be heading back to Successville and I would like to thank the BBC for embracing the madness of the show. We have loads more mad places to go and I can’t wait to see who we are taking there. LET’S GO SOLVE A CRIME.”

Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, says “BBC Three will always be home to the best British creative ideas and talent, and Murder In Successville is no exception. The guys were amazing in the first series and I am sure we will have celebs knocking down our door to get under DI Sleet this time. Let’s go solve a crime!”

Ed Sleeman, Commissioning Editor for the BBC, says: “I’m so excited that the brilliant Murder In Successville is coming back. I can’t wait to find out which celebs will dare to join DI Sleet in the new series, and wish the precarious residents of Successville the best of luck. Let’s go solve a crime.”

Tiger Aspect’s Head of Comedy Entertainment, Andy Brereton, says: “It’s amazing to have another chance at murder – most people only get one stab at it. Will the sidekicks feel the heat when they join DI Sleet on the beat? Or can they call upon the science of deduction to solve a Murder In Successville? Let’s go solve a crime.”

    Only time will tell.
