Episode Five of the murder mystery sitcom aired last night, to hilarious avail, with Pussycat Doll, Kimberly Wyatt guest starring as our favourite fictional detective DI Sleet’s partner in crime. The show provides a unique set up, in that this British series is based on improvisational elements with the actors on set knowing the story, except the guest starring celeb.
Tom Davis (Plebs, Cockroaches) stars as Successville’s tallest detective, DI Sleet, with every week a different celebrity being invited to solve a murder alongside him. The other inhabitants of the fictional town being made up of a series of incredible celebrity impersonations, my favourite amongst the lot being Luke Kempner’s Alan Carr; part of the mobster pairing with his brother, Jimmy.
So far the guest stars have included, Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James, Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden and TV presenter Dermot O’Leary. The show represents the skill of everyone involved, in that the improvisation only serves to enhance the show and not hinder it. Tom Davis is perfect as the central character of the sitcom, using his effortless comedic talents to both involve the celebrities whilst also setting up for some hilarious encounters with the other Successville “celebrities”.
‘Murder In Successville’ airs every Wednesday, at 10:00pm, on BBC Three.
