Currently supporting Little Mix on their Get Weird tour, Nathan Sykes has been delivering pitch perfect performances every night. Of course, to hit those insane notes, you’ve got to warm up your vocal chords, and what better way to do so than by singing a song that you love?
Nathan recently shared a small clip of an impromptu warm up to Shawn Mendes’ ‘Stiches’, which instantly left fans begging for more. He has now blessed our ears by tweeting the full video of his vocal warm up!
‘Stitches’ has been a popular choice of cover for many artists since its release and we’ve loved listening to some of our favourites put their own spin on Shawn’s incredible song. However, Nathan’s warm up is quite easily one of the best, and the chorus, in particular, blew our minds!
Nathan has put a sultry spin on the song and really changed it up during his impromptu warm up. We were casually enjoying and appreciating Nathan’s vocals during the verse and bridge, until he hit the chorus and subsequently hit us in the feels too. His vocals are absolutely flawless and he sings it so passionately, despite only warming up. Also, can we talk about that neck vein? We’ve got his version of ‘Stitches’ stuck in our heads now but unfortunately we can’t do his runs or riffs any justice whatsoever!
We’ve got to remember that this isn’t even an official cover, but it easily could be as it’s that good. We would love for Nathan to make this available to download or stream and we definitely want to hear it at live shows in the future too!
