The premiere date for the new Netflix film, titled Falling Inn Love, has been announced as 29 August. Christina Milian will be starring as the main character, Gabriela Diaz, while Adam Demos will be playing her love interest, Jake Taylor. This is Christina Milian’s first film release of 2019, following last year’s TV movie Memories of Christmas; her last feature film was actually 2013’s Baggage Claim, but lately she has been focusing on TV, starring in Grandfathered in 2015-2016 and, more recently, the second season of The Oath, which aired this year.
A synopsis of the film has been released, the story follows city girl Gabriela Diaz in San Francisco, who is just having such a bad week after losing her job as well as her boyfriend. After a few drinks, she decides to randomly enter a contest to “win an inn” overlooking New Zealand’s countryside, and of course, she wins. With nothing to lose she flies out to New Zealand to discover that this inn – named The Bellbird Valley Farm – is not only in a state of disarray but is literally falling to pieces, with a floorboard-treading goat and a meddling neighbour who desires the inn.
She decides to renovate the place and sell it on, and the sooner the better. This is where she meets Jake Taylor, who is a contractor and a volunteer firefighter. Yet, will she be willing to leave and sell up after all the renovations are done? Would she really leave behind Jake Taylor and the community she’s got to know which has inspired her creative side?
