Following months of rumours and speculation, it’s time to grab your friends (ooh, fwends!) because The Inbetweeners are BACK!
Netflix has officially announced that The Inbetweeners 3 movie is currently in production, with all four of the main characters returning for another adventure. Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison will be reprising their roles as Will, Simon, Jay, and Neil respectively, as seen in the teaser trailer released earlier today.
In the 40-second clip, we see the return of Simon’s infamous yellow car with all four lads sat inside. It doesn’t start at first, in typical fashion, but then we can see them driving off with a number ‘3’ drawn in dirt on the rear window.

The Channel 4 show’s original creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris will be returning to write and direct the movie. In a statement, they said: “It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans.”
The Inbetweeners is one of the most iconic and quotable British sitcoms of the 21st century, and has a huge cult following to this day. First gracing our screens back in 2008, the rude and crude coming-of-age sitcom ran for three series, without forgetting the release of two movies in 2011 and 2014. The show also celebrated its 10th anniversary on January 1, 2019, with a retrospective programme titled Fwends Reunited. Many were disappointed by this show, as they were expecting it to be a new episode rather than a look back at its best moments.
After 12 years away, fans on social media are excited about this newly announced third movie. While some are sceptical over how it will fare in 2026, there’s also plenty of speculation already surrounding how the foursome’s adult lives might have turned out.
