Netflix has released several made-for-Netflix series, including “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and most recently, “Fuller House” based on the late 80s classic comedy, “Full House.” Coming in 2017, Netflix will be releasing a new made-for-Netflix series called, “Santa Clarita Diet.” This project will be a single camera show created by Victor Fresco.
We’ve come a long way from having to wait until next week to find out what happens in some of our favorite Internet television shows. Netflix has introduced many made-for-Netflix series’ where all of the series’ episodes are released at once. Netflix also gives people a chance to go back and maybe even watch a television show that they didn’t watch when it originally aired on TV.
Next year, Netflix is introducing a new comedy, “Santa Clarita Diet,” starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant, who recently starred as himself in the television series, “The Grinder.” The two will play husband and wife realtors living displeasing lives in the suburb of Santa Clarita in Los Angeles until Barrymore’s character goes through a drastic change, putting their lives on “a road of death and destruction…but in a good way” writes Deadline Hollywood.
Netflix’s Cindy Holland says, “The genius of casting Timothy and Drew combined with Victor’s unique comedic sensibility will delight, and definitely surprise, our members around the world.” This will definitely be a series to look for next year.
Along with being the creator, Victor Fresco will executive produce the project as well with Drew and Timothy. We look forward to viewing this show in 2017!
