Fresh off the back of becoming only the second woman ever to win the “Album of the Year” Grammy twice, as well as opening the Grammy telecast with a performance of her sixth single “Out of the Woods”, Taylor Swift is set to release her song “New Romantics” as single number 7!
“New Romantics” is available only on the deluxe edition of her record breaking album “1989” and has long been a fan favourite. The song served as the second song in her sellout 1989 World Tour, and always kept the adrenaline pumping and the fans dancing!
The song is undoubtedly one of Taylor’s cleverest, lyrically, and the title alludes to the 1980s pop culture movement that lead to the rise of the kind of synth-pop music that Swift said inspired her during the recording of her latest album!
“New Romantics” will impact pop-radio on the 23rd February, but there’s no news yet on the Music Video! Maybe it’s already filmed and Taylor will drop it on us out of nowhere (Like she did with Wildest Dreams!) or maybe she’s yet to film it and we’ll have to suffer for weeks and weeks after the announcement until a video finally surfaces (Like with Out of the Woods!). Either way, we can’t wait!
The single is expected to be the last from 1989, and the last before Taylor takes a much deserved temporary break from recording and touring music for a little while.
