Congratulations to Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and his wife Lauren Kitt Carter, who have welcomed a baby boy into the world!
The pair have named their first child Odin Reign Carter, who, according to ET, arrived after a 30 hour labour during a water birth at home on Tuesday.
A few days ago, Lauren revealed that she had plans for a home birth. She told E! News “We don’t have a to-go bag because we are planning a home birth if all goes to plan. If [Nick] wants to film it, he can. I’m getting him a snorkel and mask.
The pair kept the unusual name under wraps beforehand, although Nick confirmed that the pair had chosen a name for their baby during the premiere of Dead 7 on April 1. He revealed: “It’s a very strong name. We can’t say the name yet. I’ve been instructed by my wife to keep it under wraps, but we have a name.” Odin, in Germanic mythology, is a “widely revered god.”
Prior to the birth, the couple held a Game of Thrones themed baby shower to celebrate. Around 60 guests were in attendance, including Nick’s fellow Backstreet Boys members Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean.
