Roland Emmerich’s forthcoming movie, “Midway,” just got sprinkled with even more star power, as it was today confirmed that musician and actor Nick Jonas has signed up to join the cast ahead of the project’s fall shoot.

The musician has been revealed as the war-time movie’s newest signing, alongisde Tadanobu Asano, Aaron Eckhart, Keean Johnson and Dennis Quaid. This group will be joining the already stellar line-up of Luke Evans, Mandy Moore, Woody Harrelson, Ed Skrein, Jun Kunimura, and Patrick Wilson who are all set to descend on Honolulu in early September when shooting for the big budget project begins.

Based on the true story of the Battle of Midway which was a turning point in the Pacific theatre of the Second World War, this epic is said to chronicle the exploits of the soldiers and the pilots at the heart of the conflict. And packed with equal amounts of action and drama, it is undoubtedly a movie that is not to be missed.

The project will be directed by Roland Emmerich from a script written by Wes Tooke while producers consist of Emmerich’s own Centropolis Entertainment, Harald Klooser and Mark Gorgon.

Further details about the upcoming Lionsgate release are yet to be confirmed, but it is rumoured that Woody Harrelson will play Admiral Chester Nimitz, Patrick Wilson will take on the role of Navy Rear Admiral Edward Layton and Luke Evans will portray Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky, with all other characters to be revealed in due course.

But for Nick Jonas, this project is sure to be a thrilling one whatever his role is… “Midway,” will be his third in a major film in quick succession following his role in, “Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle,” and the upcoming, “Chaos Walking,” which will also be released under Lionsgate.

The news of the singer’s newest role also comes two days after he exclusively told Teen Vogue that he has a brand new song coming out in a couple of weeks along with a screenplay and a play he has written himself. So needless to say, he is going to be pretty busy over the coming months!
