Not only is she the queen of rap, Nicki Minaj is also now the queen of breaking records.
The 34-year-old just became the title holder for most female appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 with 76 entries, dethroning Aretha Franklin. The two were tied as of March 18, each with 73 to their name. The Queen of Soul has held the top spot since 1977.
“When u find out u just became the only woman in the history of billboard to have 76 Hot 100 billboard entries,” Minaj captioned an Instagram video of herself twerking to the career milestone.
Her three newest tracks, “No Frauds,” featuring Lil Wayne and Drake (No. 14), “Changed It” featuring Lil Wayne (No. 71) and “Regret in Your Tears” (No. 61) all debuted on the chart this week after dropping weeks prior.
Minaj first earned her way onto the Hot 100 back in February of 2010, making a cameo on Lil Wayne’s “Knockout.” The song peaked at No. 44. In August of that same year, “Your Love” became her first solo entry with lead billing.
Taylor Swift trails Minaj’s record among women with 70 hits of her own, followed by Rihanna at 58 and Madonna at 57.
“Man, I tell ya… God said he ain’t done showing off yet. Lol,” the rapper wrote in an additional Instagram post to express her happiness after ending Franklin’s 40-year reign. “To my fans: I fkn love u guys more than I’ll ever be able to put in words. Thank u so much for your unwavering love & support. God bless each & every one of you.”
She is currently working on an anticipated follow-up album to 2014’s The Pinkprint.
