Nicki Minaj sparked outrage amongst people, including her loyal fans when she shared a video on Instagram of her laughing whilst commanding a wheelchair bound person to ‘walk’.
Dressed up as a fairy in a corset and layered mini skirt, Minaj celebrated halloween at 1 OAK in LA over the weekend. She completed her look with a tiara, gold wand, and a diamond cuff and thinner bracelet on her left forearm. She shared a picture of herself on Instagram, captioning it “I’m a fairy f*cking princess.” and she looked gorgeous as she always does.
As the night pressed on, Minaj seemed to be having much fun, when she posts the 15 second video which soon spread like wildfire. It shows her laughing maniacally while pointing her wand and saying “walk”, she continues to laugh and goes again, “I command you to walk.” The camera then pans down the hallway towards an unidentified person in a wheelchair. People took to Instagram to express their rage over the video, accusing her of mocking a disabled person, a very offensive gesture to the disabled community.

However Minaj was quick to tamp down the growing fire by tweeting a reporter, “Lol. That’s NOT a disabled person and u know that. Are u that desperate for attention?” She continues to respond with another tweet, saying “Bitch, u knew. That’s my friend in a scooter. Have a great day. I surely will.”
The video has hence been deleted.
Yet, earlier in the weekend, Minaj expressed her own outrage regarding a Bill Cosby Halloween costume that supposedly made fun of Cosby’s sexual assault allegations which has since become viral. The costume is of a man dressed up as a drugged woman and a Cosby dummy attached to the back.
“Our generation is so desensitized.” Minaj wrote.
All in all, it seems as if Minaj had a good time during the Halloween celebrations.
