Earlier this month, Nina Nesbitt released her striking new single, ‘Somebody Special’. The track, written in Nashville with Dan Muckala, garnered over a million Spotify streams in just over a week. However, we predict that the song will soon rise even further thanks to the newly released music video.

Dubbed as a love song with a twist, the music video sees Nina in a rather toxic relationship where she isn’t getting the love and affection she deserves. However, unbeknown to her, there is soon to be a romantic spanner in the works after she catches the attention of a stranger on her daily bus commute.

Not only did Nina co-write ‘Somebody Special’, but she also co-wrote the script for the video. Putting her own visual twist on the song’s lyrics, the video will encourage you to love yourself and to know and acknowledge your worth.

“I think everyone wants to feel good about themselves”, Nina explains “but when you’re with somebody that is emotionally abusive it can really wear you down, so I wanted to show that moment where she realises that she deserves more and finally takes control of the situation”.

Watch the music video for ‘Somebody Special’ below.

‘Somebody Special’ follows on from Nina’s previous tracks ‘The Best You Had’ and ‘The Moments I’m Missing’. Now under Cooking Vinyl, Nina has shown a huge growth and development in her sound over the years and has even gained some famous fans in the form of Chloë Grace Moretz and Taylor Swift. In fact, Taylor included ‘The Best You Had’ on her ‘favourite tracks’ playlist on Spotify and Apple.

In May, Nina will be taking her new music on the road. Kicking off in Nottingham on May 14, she will visit several cities before finishing in Newcastle on May 23. Tickets for Nina’s tour are available here.
