She’s been on the verge of a popular comeback for the past year or so, and as 2018 truly roles in, Nina Nesbitt has dropped an awesome new song. “Somebody Special” is a love song with a twist; it has a sprinkle of sugar and lyrics we can’t get enough of. She has impressed, once again.
Under a new deal with Cooking Vinyl, Nina Nesbitt has previously released “The Best You Had” and “The Moments I’m Missing” which currently count for 25 million streams of her 85 million total. Following them up is not easy, but “Somebody Special” has all the essentials to become a popular hit.
“’Somebody Special’ is about when you’ve been feeling a bit low and then you meet this person who changes everything,” explains Nina Nesbitt. “It’s about those first few months where everything you do together feels so exciting. You could be sitting in a dive bar drinking cheap cider, driving about in a broken down car, or sitting at home in your tracksuit, but you somehow feel like you’re having the best time because the feeling of falling in love sugar coats everything.”

The song premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats1, and was written in Nashville by Nina Nesbitt and Dan Muckala. Her voice is sweet enough to allow the lyrics to shine throughout; it is literally the sugar coating on the track that makes our day that little bit better.
She released her debut album, “Peroxide” in 2014, which charted at number 11 in the UK, number 40 in Ireland, and hit the top spot in Scotland. Rather than launch into another album, she has been dropping EPs and singles allowing inspiration to strike naturally. Her latest singles have certainly been noteworthy, and we sure hope more new music is on its way.
Nina Nesbitt will also be heading out on a UK tour this May, which includes a headline date at London’s Heaven on 15 May 2018. Tickets will go on sale on 17 January 2018 – in just two days time.
