One Direction’s fifth studio album drops in full on November 13th but fans who preordered the album today got a sneak peek into what the boys have been recording when they were given an exclusive track by Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall.
‘Infinity’ is the name of the track and it is beautiful.
The boys voiced in interviews and concerts how the sound in this album was different than albums before, going for more of a mellow vibe; something more grown as they transitioned from teens to young adults and realized their fan base had done the same.
The first track we heard from Made In The AM was ‘Drag Me Down’ and it was quickly coined the boys’ new anthem. It was a song that talked about strength with love and did so with deep vocal sound, runs that Harry hit beautifully, a beat that gets stuck in your head, and more than that, with honestly and vulnerability. Two emotions that are important to any artist who really wants to connect to their fan base.
‘Infinity’ is absolutely breathtaking, the lyrics to the song are about pining for someone in an open and beautiful way. It talks about wanting someone to just belong to you, to just be yours in a world where it seems like the odds are against you. The depth of the voices of the boys, the need in his voice when Harry screams the chorus in the background while it’s led by the other boys is raw and powerful. This song brings out the tears in you, not just because of the lyrics, but because of the emotion every one of the boys brings to it.

The honesty in these lyrics is enough to break you and put you back together in the same 4 minutes.
The sound of this album, just with two tracks being released, is perfect for what Louis, Liam, Niall, and Harry are embarking upon in this part of their lives. Change. A new image, a new contract (after their break), possible new management, and a new place to stand up for themselves, to speak their minds and hearts, and to embrace the young men they’ve grown into; allowing their sound to do the same.
We’ve watched One Direction grow up, and it’s finally beyond their time to shine as incredible, grown, sexy, fun, young men. Their album is sure to reflect that, and we’re ready for it. Harry, Niall, Louis, Liam – the world is watching with anticipatory eyes and ears.
