Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall may be getting ready to go on a hiatus but the boys are showing fans that they have no desire to slow down before it happens! On November 25th One Direction returned to Mexico for a press conference before their performance at the Telehit Awards in Mexico City!
On November 25th the boys held a press conference – which you can view in full here – to talk a bit about their journey together and promote their new album! This was a special experience for fans and press in Mexico who hadn’t been able to view the interviews, see the boys on talk shows, or attend events like The London Session during their promo season thus far!
On November 26th, the night of the Telehit Awards, fans were anticipating hearing Niall, Liam, Louis, and Harry sing Perfect or even Infinity which was decided earlier in the day to be their new single – what fans got however was a mini concert in Mexico City!
The boys started off with Drag Me Down which is an anthem and the crowd went absolutely wild! Their vocals were 100% on fire, their stage presence was lit, and you could see how incredibly happy they were to be performing – something they love! They followed up with Perfect and the crowd was singing the lyrics back to the lads with passion and admiration. One of the most special moments at a One Direction performance is seeing the look on the faces of the boys as the crowd sings their songs right back at them.
Liam spent some time talking to the crowd – thanking them for years of dedication and support before announcing Little Things. No matter how many times this song is performed – it never fails to bring out emotions in the lads as well as the crowd. It’s a staple to the One Direction experience.
The boys took a break to be presented with three awards – Best Video, Best Boyband, and Arist of the Year – before continuing the performance.
To make the night even sweeter, One Direction surprised fans and sang AM – a fan favorite from their new album.

AM is a song that was meant to be heard live – the message behind it, the vocal talent of the boys, and it’s soft melody makes for a song that’s going to be attached to memories for Liam, Niall, Harry, and Louis and fans alike.
After singing AM Liam took a moment to thank fans and talk about how amazing that was – the crowd cheered loudly in agreement as fans at home on twitter went crazy upon hearing the clips that were posted online for those of us who couldn’t be there in person! It truly was an incredible experience.
Infinity was next on the set list – the boys executing it perfectly, followed up with Story of My Life before ending their time on the Telehit Awards.
It speaks incredibly high of One Direction and their fans alike when they continue to win awards like Artist of the Year, Best Boy-band, and Song of the Year during 2015 – which was absolutely one of the hardest years that the boys and fans have been through. It says that they mean it when they stayed together because they’re doing what they love, it says they’ve kept their promises thus far, and they have no plan to break them in the future. It says of the fans that they are still in this too – for the long run – and that no amount of false bad press or unfathomable obstacles thrown at them will persuade them to be anything but loyal to four boys who stole their hearts five years ago.
Fans in Mexico City sure got to see a very happy, lively, and lovely side of Niall, Harry, Louis, and Liam over the last couple days the boys spent there – and nothing is better or more gorgeous than the true smiles of the lads of One Direction when they’re living their dream and helping fans experience theirs too.
