As far as a hiatus goes; Louis, Harry, Niall, and Liam are certainly still making headlines during One Direction’s time off, sort of like they didn’t quite understand the meaning of the word. Luckily though, that means that the fans are still supporting the band tirelessly while the lads do take a break from touring and recording albums. That is a true show of how much One Direction and their fans embody the word team.
It was announced today that One Direction are up nominated for multiple Teem Choice Awards in 2016 and fans could not be more proud! While Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall are exploring new ventures during their break and enjoying some time off, fans are busy showing their support and love for their idols while they’re away.
The Teen Choice Awards are voted on by young adults and dedicated One Direction fans have already taken to Twitter to start encouraging others to vote for the boys using the appropriate hashtags for each category! Liam, Niall, Louis, and Harry are up for Choice Music Group and Choice Male Hottie (Harry Styles) but perhaps their most important nomination is for Choice Song Group with ‘Home’.
‘Home’ is a song written by Jamie Scott, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne that stole the hearts of millions upon it’s “release” when Louis tweeted the emoji, a lyric of the song, and then followed up with the link to the track in October of 2015. It was an overnight sensation.
The song has been hailed as a song about acceptance in many forms – from coming out to self-love – ‘Home’ means something special to every person that heard it. Fans of One Direction have always said they feel most at home during concerts and with friends they’ve met because of the band. Fans also credit the boys for giving them the bravery they needed to truly embrace themselves, to fight against society norms and blossom into the people they were destined to become.
It almost seems like the lads were listening and somehow found a bit of themselves in the stories of their fans when they sat down to write this tune, it’s so special and so personal. So when the nomination for this song was revealed, there was suddenly no other choice for the fans who found comfort in it, this tune has to win.
