A congratulations is in order for new parents Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy!
The Dancing with the Stars pros welcomed baby boy Shai Aleksander early Wednesday morning. Chmerkovskiy announced the big news on Twitter.

Before Shai’s birth, the proud new father took to Instagram to share the mother-to-be applying mascara from her hospital bed, ready to go. He captioned the photo, “but first… a little makeup.”
The couple had been dating on and off since 2012 before getting engaged in 2015. Their wedding is planned for this upcoming summer.
On Tuesday, the youngest Chmerkovskiy brother, Val, revealed that he would not be present in Richmond, Virginia for the Dancing With the Stars: Live! tour.
“I unfortunately can’t be there at the show tonight. As all of you know, I’m expected to be an uncle very soon,” Val shared on social media. “My sister-in-law Peta Murgatroyd is literally delivering the baby as soon I’m done with this video, hopefully. But I’ll be back on the road tomorrow and somehow I promise to make it up to you, Richmond. Thank you so much and enjoy the show.”

‘I can’t wait to provide this baby with the tools to become a beautiful, kind person,” Maks told People back in June.
“I’m looking forward to nurturing something and just having the baby be the center of our world. I’m looking forward to putting all our energy into this beautiful soul,” his fiancée added.
