Prepare To Be Punished – A Look At ‘Daredevil’ Season 2

Netflix premiered its second season of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ last night in New York City. The series goes much darker in Season 2 as we are introduced to new characters the Punisher, played by The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal, and Elektra, played by Elodie Yung.

If you haven’t binge-watched ‘Daredevil’ you should. It’s about Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer by day and mask wearing vigilante by night, but Daredevil isn’t your typical Marvel superhero that we’ve seen on the big screen. He isn’t a cheeky billionaire with a sophisticated enough mind to build advanced armor and weapons like Iron Man or an idealistic all-American who prizes himself on honor and justice like Captain America. He’s a regular guy who has a passion for his city and uses his heightened senses to keep the city safe.

In season 2 Daredevil’s main adversary is vigilante, Frank Castle, who goes by the endearing name the Punisher. Castle is a former soldier who takes the law into his own hands and murders those who he feels need to be punished after his wife and children are murdered by a gang. Daredevil, while violent in his own right, draws the line at murder and we will see him try to stop Castle this season.

Watch the trailer below and get excited for Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ Season 2 premiering March 18th on Netflix!
