Fighting for mental health and trying to normalize and rid of the stigmas surrounding it, RAGS AND RICHES return with their fierce new single “THE BEAST.” The narrative leans towards the darker sides of ourselves and the demons that churn around within us. Reminiscent of Imagine Dragons, Twenty-One Pilots and X Ambassadors, the duo aim to raise awareness on a topic close to their hearts.
The track starts off with a prowling, haunting arrangement, reflective of how fragile people can be when battling with their mental health. With growling singing and backing vocals, the track has a fury and aggression representative of “THE BEAST” within us. With gentle moments and pounding drums there is a frightening aspect to the tune, not to mention the video. Inspired by The Joker, the video shows the character ending up in hospital unable to control his actions, putting both himself and others at risk. An interesting light aspect to the video is the impressive ability to record the whole song upside down!
2021 has dates locked in for an upcoming tour for the duo, so check them out if you want to get a taste of their explosive live performances. With an impressive amount of attention and streams for their music, it seems like RAGS AND RICHES are quickly becoming ones to watch. This Kentucky duo are quite simply a force to be reckoned with.
