Rising star RAYE is back with another soon-to-be hit, in the form of ‘Decline’ featuring Afro-beat star Mr. Eazi.
Produced by Fraser T Smith, ‘Decline’ showcases RAYE’s trademark vocals over a slick RnB beat which proves to be irresistible to the ear. Mr. Eazi adds his own edge to proceedings, making for an overall catchy song.
Fans of early 00’s RnB will most likely recognise the chorus, as it sees RAYE put her own spin on Ja Rule and Ashanti’s ‘Always On Time’. Whilst the original track is just as iconic today, we love how the singer changes things up by adding her own sass to the lyrics.
“I was always there for you, oh, I was always on time, and I gave you my all, so now you call, I decline.”
‘Decline’ allows RAYE to show off her fiery side, with the rapped verses and earworm chorus showcasing that she is well and truly over her ex.

‘Decline’ follows on from her previous single ‘The Line’, which was a huge hit over the summer. Her latest offering is taken from an upcoming project, to be released in 2018, which will see RAYE collaborating with a number of her artist friends.
There’s no doubt that RAYE is one to watch. After releasing her own music in 2015, she truly burst onto the music scene in 2016 after featuring on Jonas Blue’s ‘By Your Side’ and Jax Jones’ ‘You Don’t Know Me’. She was later shortlisted for the BBC Music Sound of 2017, finishing in third place.
If ‘Decline’ is anything to go by, it’s clear that the British singer-songwriter is only growing from strength to strength, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for her.
