American Idol Season 14 finalist, Rayvon Owen, who made headlines by coming out as gay through his debut music video and an interview with Billboard; has released a lyric video of his recently released single “Bulletproof”. La Roux originally sang the song and had an international hit with it.
On Spotify alone, the song has received over 7,000 plays. Rayvon Owen’s version is very different to the original, adding a whole new twist on “Bulletproof”; one we adore in every single way. Originally the song was written by Elly Jackson & Ben Langmaid.

This version is much slower, taking on a bigger meaning with his amazing soulful voice. He adds compassion and strength beyond anything we can imagine. His voice hits home upon every single lyric, he clearly has connected with this song in every way.
As for the lyric video itself, it’s set in what looks like a corridor. Rayvon Owen is illuminated via a light wall panel that casts his figure in shadow. There is a window in the middle of the visual which occasionally shows cars driving past. Throughout, we watch him move subtly.
We have no doubt that Rayvon Owen’s Spotify streams of this song will continue to rise as more and more people hear this version of the song. We also believe that Elly Jackson, who is now the sole member of La Roux, will love this version of the song.
