Sending out the message about keeping your heart open in a feel-good indie-pop song is Remy Reilly with the addicting new single “What Do Ya Know”. The track is all about letting go of worries and anything else that happened in previous relationships and just being open to falling in love again – a message we all need from time to time, and what better way to spread it than in an upbeat positive song? This is the follow-up to her sophomore EP that she dropped last year, titled “Avalanche”.

Remy Reilly is a Texas-based indie-pop singer-songwriter from Dallas, who is rising in the music industry with her incredible voice, songwriting skills, and ability to play the piano, guitar, and drums. She is already an all-rounder when it comes to music and her shows are diverse and entertaining, always determined to put on a show and showcase her diverse musical ability. She started writing songs at the age of five, started playing drums at the age of 11, and also managed to learn to play the piano and the guitar, on top. She’s just 19 years old and she’s a fully capable artist with her indie-pop spreading worldwide. She has established herself in the Dallas music scene, having opened for the likes of OneRepublic, Joan Osborne, Haley Reinhart, and Marc Rebillet, and performed at SXSW, The Bluebonnet Festival, and The Gathering Music Festival. On top of that, she’s been nominated for four Dallas Observer Awards, winning Best New Act in 2018. Her latest EP, “Avalanche”, has soared in streams, reaching over 100k streams across platforms, with the title track being her most-streamed Spotify track from the EP, and second most-streamed Spotify track overall, behind debut single “26”, which has over 82k streams. She’s quickly rising as an artist and her new music is certainly showcasing her star quality – she’s one to watch, for sure.

Written by Remy Reilly, whilst it has been produced by Jonathan Tyler, “What Do Ya Know” is an upbeat indie-pop track with subtle rock vibes flowing throughout. Remy Reilly is joyful with her vocals which adds to her air of seeing the good in everyone, whilst her uplifting voice sends positivity to all her listeners. Quite the storyteller, “What Do Ya Know” really paints the picture of falling in love again and not being afraid to do so, especially after what has happened in the past. It’s rhythmically groovy from beginning to end, with Remy Reilly surprising us with a beautiful soulful vocal run at the end that adds even more passion to this addicting track. Indie-pop at it’s finest, “What Do Ya Know” is one of those tracks that stand out for all the right reasons, on any playlist.

“I was annoyed that I still saw the good in people after they had done bad things, but then I realized it was a wonderful property to have,” Remy Reilly mentions when talking about the track. “There are going to be bad people in your life, but you choose whether you change it and take it as a lesson. I never wanted to change my personality or light way of looking at people just because one person wasn’t kind to me.”
