Review: Cactus Rooftop Party

Last week CelebMix announced that Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing was set to DJ at the Cactus Rooftop party series in London. The Cactus parties have been running every Sunday throughout June and have seen a whole host of DJs take to the stage alongside Jamie.

In the heart of London at the stylish South Place Hotel, the pounding music playing way up on the roof can be heard in the surrounding streets. Every Sunday, hundreds of music-lovers have been drawn to South Place for Cactus’ exclusive rooftop terrace parties. Described as ‘Africa meets Ibiza’, the parties consist of non-stop summer tunes, exquisite views of the city and, surprisingly, scorching sunshine.

On Sunday, the exclusive Cactus party saw Jamie Laing take to the DJ decks. He played a fantastic set as the crowd danced along with him. Since appearing on Made in Chelsea, Jamie has been busy adding many strings to his bow, from hosting on heat Radio, to creating his extremely popular YouTube series ‘Jamie’s Happy Hour’, to now DJing across the country. We can’t wait to see what else he has in store.

Throughout June Cactus has been a platform for a huge line-up of different DJs. Jamie was followed on stage by DJ Bluey and then the amazing Cuppy, DJ and organiser of the event, who has repeatedly played on the terrace.

Performing towards the end of the night, Cuppy really got the crowd in party mode, playing summer classics from the likes of Drake and Rihanna. With summer tunes, scorching sun, stylish outfits and champagne on tap, Cactus is a mini Ibiza in the centre of London.

The Cactus terrace is the coolest place to be seen in London right now, with Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews reportedly making an appearance. Singers Madison Paris and Shae Barry were amongst previous Cactus guests, pictured here with DJ Cuppy.

Musician Kano also headed down to the party last week and is set to play Glastonbury and Lovebox amongst a whole load of festivals this summer.

Perfect for a classy day or night out with a group of friends, Cactus is the perfect way to party in style. The closing party takes place on Sunday 25th June and has an all female DJ line-up, which we are 100% here for! Grab your tickets here.
