Dawson Reigns is the latest US country singer to bring his talents to our shores. Yesterday we brought you an exclusive interview with the Nashville native rising star and we also gave you the very first play of his brand new video for his new single ‘The Night Ain’t Even Over Yet’. And now we bring you a review of his latest self-titled EP.
The EP which was released last year contains six original tracks from the newest star of country music:
All Fall Down
The Night Ain’t Even Over Yet
I Will
Stay With Me Tonight
Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That
Love Was All You
Dawson’s vocals have a very old school country vibe that shares the same qualities as the legendary Garth Brooks. The standout track on the EP is without doubt ‘I Will’. Reigns’ voice is so stripped back and the raw lyrics work perfectly.
Another standout song is ‘Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That’ which starts with a brilliant guitar rift that sounds similar to the chords used in Shania Twain’s hit ‘Love Gets Me Every Time‘.
Overall the EP shows that Dawson Reigns is one to watch on the country scene.
RATING 3/5.
