So Joey’s tour hit Belfast and safe to say it was a day that didn’t disappoint!
Joey was in a band on X Factor in 2014 called Overload Generation – long story short, they split up and he joined another band called Adrenalin Trip which split up after two months.
The doors were meant to be opening at 12 and there was meant to be a meet and greet before the show but security didn’t arrive so we didn’t get in till about 1 and we were told that meet and greet before the show was scrapped but there would be a meet and greet after.
As we walked in, James McDowell was sound checking so he did ‘She Looks So Perfect’ and ‘Latch.’ He did a Justin Timberlake song too which was so good and it was his birthday and he looked mortified when everyone was singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him!
But a band that were amazing were Unscripted – they sang so well!
Then there was loads of local singers including a 12 year old beat boxer. The show seemed to be moving relatively slowly as by this point it was about 3 and there was no sign of Joey!
At about 4.30, that’s when the show really started to kick off. Josh Taylor and Jack Morlen followed before Joey finally came on. Jack mentioned how he forgot his words on X Factor and said that since he is now solo (he was in a band called EverYoung) he can ‘do what he likes.’
Joey finally took to the stage. He did 4 songs then Michael Sutthakorn came on.
He did ‘Somebody’, ‘Let Me Love You’ and gave the crowd an exclusive preview of his new single ‘Trouble’ – and it’s a tune so be sure to buy it when it comes out on the 22 January!!
Then Joey came back out and performed a few more songs. He did two originals – ‘Fix My Heart’ and ‘Never Ever.’ ‘Never Ever’ is his single coming out soon and was the last song so all the support acts came out and danced with the crowd – it was brilliant!
Meet and greet at the end was very rushed – but Joey was so nice and took his time with everyone, making sure he had met everyone.
It was such a good day and if you get the chance to go to his tour I would recommend it.
There’s two UK dates left – Bristol on the 1 November and 8 November in London.
