Rex & The Rhythm was raised in Barbados with a deep passion for music from a young age. Blending elements of hip-hop, soul, and alt-pop into an intricate sonic web, Rex & The Rhythm is an abstract thinker who remains unrestricted by the limits of genre. His new single “Highs & Grows” is a soul-striking ode to our tribulations. Rex & The Rhythm celebrates every corner of his identity and how his greatest challenges have only made him stronger.
“Highs & Grows” will heighten your frequency with high-soaring harmonies, grounded notes of bass, and gritty percussion that shakes the earth beneath your feet. Rex sings, “Best wishes to the friends turned foes / Kick back and critique my flow.” The music video for “Highs & Grows” leans into the deeply introspective nature of the song as Rex is filmed in many different forms playing each instrument. “Highs & Grows” is a serendipitous address to the inner-psyche that breathes new life and optimism with each listen.
Rex & The Rhythm grew up surrounded by music. He got to open for the one and only Ashanti at The Hennessy Artistry festival in Barbados. He was a member of the #1 UK charting band Cover Drive.
