Rising alt-pop artist OLI continues to merge emotional depth with genre-bending sounds this week, with the release of her new single ‘Only You’.

Taken from the ‘Cry’ singers upcoming debut album ‘When It All Goes Quiet’ (out October 25th), the soulful and jazz-infused track explores the complexities of “romantic desire and emotional vulnerability”, whilst blending melancholy melodies with the playful allure of jazz and rich, soul.

Co-produced by long-time collaborator Benny D (Stormzy, Paloma Faith), this emotional tension is reflected not only in the lyrics but also in the arrangement, which combines “moody, sombre chords” with a lively, jazz-inspired rhythms.

Commenting on her latest offering, OLI says: “‘Only You’ is about someone being outsmarted and outplayed romantically, then realising you’re infatuated with them. You think you don’t need the person, but then you realise you absolutely do. There’s a hint of desperation in the song for sure.”

    Listen to ‘Only You’ below:

OLI is a rising London-based alt-pop singer-songwriter known for her ethereal soundscapes and emotionally resonant lyrics. Born in New Jersey but raised in London, she grew up in a musical household, which shaped her eclectic style influenced by artists like Dionne Warwick, Pearl Jam, and Pink Floyd.

Her music blends dreamy alt-pop with non-conformist lyricism, tackling themes of emotional vulnerability and introspection. Some of her notable tracks include ‘Cry’, which explores the cathartic power of tears, and ‘Think About It’, which captures the struggle of overthinking.

Her upcoming debut album, ‘When It All Goes Quiet’, further highlights her evolving sound, mixing jazz, soulful elements, and alt-pop?.

“‘When It All Goes Quiet’ is a reflection of those quiet moments of solitude and self-reflection,” OLI says of the record. “But ‘Only You’ brings a different energy—there’s desperation, frustration, and the vulnerability that comes with realising you need someone more than you thought.”
