Rising star CATTY follows up selling out her first headline show this week by dropping latest single ‘Healing Out of Spite’.
The 26-year-old casts away an ex and their new partner over a throbbing chorus on the flick which boasts sounds of Mimi Webb, MUNA and Sabrina Carpenter. “I know it ain’t right, the reason I fight for my life, you should know I’m healing out of spite,” CATTY sings.
Writing on Instagram as the track dropped on Friday, CATTY said: “This son has almost become like a mantra or a manifestation for me. A movement of sorts, and it works! Healing Out of Spite works! We sold out my headline show!
“What an honour it is to write and work with Dani Sylvia and Barns Noble. This song started in the car on the way to the studio. I feel so lucky to know you, thank you.”
‘Healing Out of Spite’ follows March’s brooding ‘I Dated A Monster’, which has racked up 200,000 streams on Spotify alone since its release.
This week, CATTY also announced a landmark debut headline show to take place at The Grace in London on Thursday, July 4. Tickets for the set sold out within a day with the singer admitting that even her parents hadn’t been quick enough to snap up any!
CATTY said: “I just announced a headline show, which is absolutely crazy. I have wanted this for the longest time. I’ve seen everybody else do their headline show and I thought, when are we going to do it?
“Thanks so much for receiving it well. I’ve been so nervous but I’m extremely overwhelmed in the nicest way possible. I feel so happy and grateful and hope you come!
“I signed my first record deal when I was 18 and I’m now 26 and have never done a solo headline show. This has been a long time coming and I am so genuinely excited.”
