Rob Kardashian has reportedly offered to donate his kidney to his brother-in-law Lamar Odom.
Lamar, 35, collapsed earlier this month at a Las Vegas brothel following his drugs and alcohol binge, which left him on the brink of death.
Ex-NBA basketball star, Lamar, who is married to Rob’s big sister Khloe, is currently undergoing kidney dialysis treatments at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. According to reports, Lamar is in desperate need of a transplant in order to save his life.
He suffered several strokes and multiple organ failure, and while other organs have returned to functionality, doctors believe his kidneys are still failing.
Rob and Lamar became friends when Rob lived with him and Khloe and he regularly called him his ‘brother’ in public. Rob has reportedly been ‘instrumental’ in Lamar’s recovery this past week.
A source told MailOnline: “Rob is willing to do whatever it takes to help Lamar recover. If that means donating a kidney then so be it. Rob has a big heart and he’s willing to step up to help his friend.”
However, the 28-year-old sock designer still needs to undergo tests to determine whether he and Lamar are a match. “Rob is willing to undergo medical tests to find out,” the report added.
Lamar is also thought to be battling pneumonia, which reportedly left permanent scarring on his lungs. “The pneumonia was a huge setback and now there’s worry about permanent scarring of the lungs,” an insider told People Magazine. “His kidneys are still not functioning correctly but he’s nowhere near strong enough to even think of a transplant, so he’s on dialysis.”
Khloe Kardashian, who called off divorce proceedings against Lamar last week, has been at his bedside ever since his collapse and has vowed to support her husband every step of the way throughout his treatment and recovery.
