Robbie Williams has confirmed his brand new studio album, Heavy Entertainment Show, which is due for release on November 4.
The singer made the announcement last night on Facebook, before his performance at the Apple Music Festival. A trailer for the album was also premiered on ITV during an advert break on The X Factor. The short clip features Robbie in the boxing ring, with title track ‘Heavy Entertainment Show’ being featured in the background.
Heavy Entertainment Show is Robbie’s first solo studio album since 2013, with his last offering Swings Both Ways being the 1000th album to reach the top of the UK charts. It features songs co-written with Guy Chambers, Brandon Flowers, Ed Sheeran, John Grant, and Rufus Wainwright, to name a few.
Talking about the new album, Robbie said: “I was musing over the phrase ‘light entertainment’ – all the huge TV shows from when I was a kid, 30 million people watching them, this huge shared experience of these moments called light entertainment. Sometimes it can be leveled at people in a bad way, but for me that’s heavy entertainment. That’s what I’m hoping to do with this album – to have a shared experience with millions of people though the medium of light entertainment…but on steroids.”
