The Rock praises kid who used movie technique to save his brother’s life

In an incredible case of life imitating art, actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has praised a ten-year-old child for saving his brother’s life after using a trick he learned in one of the actor’s movies.

In late July, Jacob O’Connor noticed something floating in the backyard pool before realising it was his younger brother, who had crept outside through open doors, drowning face down in the unfenced area.

O’Connor, who thought quickly, dragged his brother from the pool before laying him flat on his back and beginning a series of life saving compressions.

Telling WXYZ 7 News, O’Connor said he learned how to perform CPR in The Rock’s 2015 movie, San Andreas.

“There was an earthquake, then it caused a tsunami, and then there was a daughter that was drowning in the pool and he had to get her out and he did the same thing,” the youngster told the news station.

Once news hit the internet and got back to Johnson, the superstar took to Twitter to send the child a virtual high-five.

O’Connor’s mother said she had never felt more proud of her son for saving his brother’s life. The injured youngster was in hospital for a day, but “tried to get back in the pool when he got home.”
