With just weeks to go until RuPaul’s Drag Race UK arrives back on our screens, Mama Ru has gone on record to announce this seasons line-up of special guest judges!
As die hard fans of the franchise will know, each week queens face challenges that test their drag skills to the MAX, in the hopes of impressing not only the shows regular panel of judges – made up of Ru, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton – but also a host of celebrity Drag Race super fans, who too are on hand to help deliberate the fate of the queens.
This year, the celebrity guest judges are…
- Comedian, actor and writer, Aisling Bea
- Pop star / stage star, Alexandra Burke
- Actor and OBE, Cush Jumbo
- Designer, actor, producer and musician, Daphne Guinness
- Actor, comedian and presenter, Joel Dommett
- Supermodel and London fashion icon, Kristen McMenamy
- Pop icon, Sophie-Ellis Bextor
- BAFTA Award winning actor, Suranne Jones
- Heartstopper and Doctor Who star, Yasmin Finney
As with previous seasons, viewers can also expect to see a slew of other celeb cameos from the likes of Edward Enninful OBE, Carol Vorderman, Strictly star Karen Hauer, and choreographer Claudimar Neto, each of whom will support the queens during the many challenges, and tribulations they will no doubt face throughout the course of the competition.
Commenting on her involvement with the show, Yasmin Finney, aka Elle Argent in hit Netflix series Heartstopper, says: “I’m a guest judge and it feels out of this world! I felt like I was on another planet during filming… Planet Joy!”
Whilst Vogue editor, and fashion icon Edward Enninful said of his upcoming appearance: “I’ve been an avid fan of Drag Race for many years, so much so that even my beloved Boston Terrier Ru, is named after the legend that is RuPaul. I am honoured to join as a guest on this year’s show and look forward to seeing what incredible visions the queens have in store for us all.”
As per a press release, transmission details for the fifth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will be revealed in “Ru course”.
