There has been some wonderful news regarding the well-being of Hull City’s midfielder Ryan Mason today. The clubs record signing fractured his skull yesterday after a clash of heads with Chelsea FC’s defender Gary Cahill.

The nasty clash happened in the 13th minute of the Premier League fixture which current table leaders Chelsea won 2-0. The 25-year-old received treatment on the pitch for 9 minutes, all of which he was unconscious for. After the fast response from the referee and medical staff at Stamford Bridge he was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in London for further treatment and surgery.

It was later announced that Ryan Mason had suffered a serious head injury as the result of the clash of heads with Cahill. The incident was in no way Cahill’s fault, it was just an honest challenge for the ball that resulted in an injury.

Upon hearing the news of Mason’ skull fracture there was an outpouring of love and concern on social media, praying for the players full recovery.

And thankfully today, Ryan Mason’s family and club confirmed that he is now conscious and talking again after his successful surgery.

Hull City’s official club statement regarding Mason’s health, read:

“Ryan has been speaking of the incident yesterday and will continue to be monitored at the hospital over the coming days where the Club will remain in close contact with Ryan, his family and the staff at St Mary’s.

Ryan and his family have also been extremely touched by the overwhelming support they have received and would very much like to thank all of those who have posted such positive comments both on social media and in the press over the last 24 hours.”

The former Spurs star has also been visited by Chelsea’s club captain John Terry, player Gary Cahill and assistant manager Steve Holland.

Everyone at Celeb Mix would like to wish Ryan Mason a full and speedy recovery.
