Singer/songwriter and prolific performer Ryan Montbleau has just released his third EP this year. Entitled Water, the EP is the third out of four distinctive EPs that highlight Earth’s elements, Wood, Fire, Water and Air.
In the five-track EP, Montbleau takes a calming and transformative approach to songwriting crafting sweeping acoustic songs all about healing, meditation and love. Written mostly on a trip in Peru where he volunteered doing medicine work, Water effortlessly fuses folk, rock and pop for an enthralling musical journey.
Water begins with the piano driven hopeful anthem “Let’s Make A Movie.” The optimistic single celebrates long haul love and lasting relationships. While “I Don’t Want To Go” is a more sullen track about the passing of time and trying to hold on to important moments before they fade. “I Don’t Want To Go” highlights Montbleau’s signature emotive and expressive vocals over moody guitar chords.
The strongest song on the EP is the upbeat and infectious track “Tonight’s Captain”. Featuring charismatic melodies over bright sliding guitars and a warm brass section, the single is an encouraging take on helping those you love overcome hardships and live in the light of positivity.
With Water, Ryan Montbleau has crafted yet another transformative and enjoyable musical experience. Take a listen to the new EP now and tweet us @CelebMix your thoughts.
