Fresh from finishing her Summer De-Tour, Sabrina Carpenter has wowed fans with a cover of Dua Lipa’s ‘New Rules’.
Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, Sabrina put her own spin on the hit song during an appearance on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. ‘New Rules’ suits her voice perfectly, and the songstress packs in enough fierceness to make Dua Lipa proud.
It’s safe to say that Sabrina slayed the cover! Check out her version of ‘New Rules’ below.
Whilst chatting to Elvis, Sabrina said that she loves Dua as an artist and shared her love for ‘New Rules’. “When you think about writing songs and you think about the structure of it, you only get those few times where it all makes sense, and you have that tagline. Everything comes together and you’re like, ‘oh it’s a really really good song, it’s written really well’,” she said.
Sabrina also revealed that she can’t stand listening back to her own voice. When Elvis asked if he could play back a little of the cover, Sabrina hesitated at first before admitting that she’s not a fan of hearing her voice. “It’s the same with watching myself in film or television. I don’t like to watch myself, especially with other people,” she added.

Sabrina recently took to Twitter to celebrate 25 million Spotify streams on her most recent single, ‘Why’. She said: “#WHY just passed 25 million @spotify streams. Thank you! We’re not done yet, but here is BTS from the video shoot.”
